Donald Trump and the Parable of the Fitted White Sheet (2017)


Donald Trump's reaction to the Charlottesville tragedy has exposed deep-seated stains in the Republican brand; bloody racist blotches that have remained largely ignored -- until now.

One might think of Trump's idiocy using the parable of the fitted sheet, (pun absolutely intended).  Trump has effectively yanked the fitted sheet off of the Republican mattress and, in so doing, has exposed a grotesque patchwork of bigotry that began seeping into the G.O.P long, long ago, when the ink was barely dry on the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and racist southern democrats flocked to join the opposition.
