Parry the Wind High, Low - Frank Black (Best Instrumental in Rock)
The brief instrumental that takes off toward the end of this piece is my all time favorite in Rock and Roll. Unreal.

Notes from the Underground, Chapter IX (Man Builds Roads)
" . . .[M]an is preeminitely a creative animal, predestined to strive consciously for an object and to engage in engineering -- that is, incessantly and eternally, to make new roads, wherever they may lead. But the reason why he wants sometimtimes to go off on a tangent may just be that he is predestined to make the road, and perhaps, too, that however stupid the 'direct' practical man may be, the thought sometimes will occur to him that the road almost always does lead somewhere and that the destination it leads to is less important than the process of making it. . . . Amaud Arbery, Black Lives Martyr
I cannot help but believe that Amaud Arbery knew the probability of what he faced when he charged an armed redneck, flanked by two others. History will reveal that his martyred life may well have mattered more in death. The justice system is ensuring that with life sentences for these rednecks, one of whom was a former law enforcement officer who worked for the district attorney in Brunswick, Georgia, the blindfolded lady will be well served. This hate fuelled murder of a young black man whose life mattered, may matter even more in death. Racism has consequences. Just ask the former District Attorney in Brunswick, Georgia. She now stands indicted for obstruction of justice for refusing to act when this attack was first reported to her. That one of the killers was once an investgator for her office, matters, too.

We wore our damage like big tits in tight tank tops.
Like forehead ink. Like redneck blue neck needle marks and jailhouse tattoos. Like little scabs on our bigger ones on the scar tissues on both of our two temples. The ubiquitous grimacing death flute. The portrait of the sad frown on the brooding face of the sad clown, all in all creating a well-earned near death but not quite aural patina.
Sometimes you have to take the battery out.
Then, at other times, you need to take it and smash it into the earth with the heel of your heavy boot.

Courtney Barnett - Tell Me How You Really Feel (Full Album Official Audio)
Norman Maslov said that this obscure album is "perfect." I can't disagree. Every song is a rush of good music.
