The police officer has an enemy within his body, called adrenaline, secreted from eponymous glands just above of the kidneys. This is not the cop's fault at all. But it's both present and potentially deadly when triggered. Provocation is the idiot's selection when the police-idiot encounter occurs, and it gets both idiots and innocents in big fucking trouble. Just breathe, and stay calm and pretend to obey, and safety will prevail for both the cop and his subjects, so long as the glands are calm.
